The Recreation Center offers fun, inventive classes that are sure to keep you moving!  Check out the class descriptions below, or give us a call for more information on a specific class.  

Classes are offered at various times each week.  Stop by the recreation center to pick up the current class schedule or find it online.

Barre (Barre Basics)

This low intensity Barre class will focus primarily on the smaller stabilizing and alignment muscles that support our bodies as we move through everyday life.  Barres, resistance bands, sponge balls and 1-3 pound weighs will be added to increase mobility through classical dance movements. The reps will be high, the weights low, but muscles will be shaking before you leave! 

POUND

Pound is designed for all fitness levels. It provides the perfect atmoshere for letting loose, getting energized, toning up and rockin' out. The workout is easily modifiable, and the welcoming philosophy appeals to men and women of all ages and abilities. Using Ripstix- lightly weighted drumsticks engineered specifically for exercising, POUND transforms drumming into an incredibly effective way of working out. It is a workout that combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training with yogs and pilates-inspired movements. In a 45 minute POUND class students are able to complete up to 15,000 reps and zip through 70 techniques without even realizing it.

ZUMBA®

The Zumba® program fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program that will blow you away. The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat. Add some Latin flavor and international zest into the mix and you've got a Zumba® class!

Aqua Zumba

Aqua Zumba classes  takes the same fun Latin rhythms and adds water to the dance mix. Zumba and  water – how can that be any better for a workout? At the same time you don’t have to worry about getting you hair wet, and you do not need to have any swimming ability to join in.

Zumba Tone

Zumba Toning combines targeted body-sculpting exercise and high energy  cardio work with enticing internatioanl rythms. The Zumba Toning program is an easy to follow, health - boosting dance fitness program. Have fun while creating a calorie torching, strength training dance fitness party. Using Zumba toning sticks, you'll work every muscle group while you groove. 

Pilates

Pilates strengthens the muscles that support the spine (the neck, shoulders, abs, hips and thighs) to bring balance into the body. Most body aches and pains are due to muscular imbalance. Pilates helps to realign the spine in order to decrease tension, increase flexibility, and strengthen the body from the inside out.

Pre-Hab

Prehab- What is "Prehab"?  Prehab is being proactive. You should ever say "That's just my everyday pain," when discussing your movement patterns. In this class we will build strength and stability around your most vulnerable areas, while improving flexibility, range of motion, balance, core strength and joint function to help decrease immobility and potential for future injuries. This is a lower intensity class, that will force you to focus on each movement and engage your muscles correctly. 

HIIT - High Intensity Interval Training 

The intensity will high, the training will vary. From tabata to partner work, team drills to challenging your own stamina, each class will be different, but the goal will always be the same- exiting the gym at the end of 60 sweat-filled minutes invigorated and ready to dominate the day. 

ReFit 

REFIT® is a value-infused fitness program that is a truly revolutionizing the fitness industry.  The value-positive atmosphere, relationship-centered approach and inspiring music is what sets REFIT a part from other fitness formats.  REFIT has seen tremendous growth in the past two years of its certification program with over 1000 instructors across the U.S. and some international locations.  The emphasis is on both internal and external change. People fall in love with fitness for the first time because of the encouraging positive atmosphere of REFIT.  This is why it is truly a revolution – REFIT makes fitness not just accessible, but approachable and achievable. 

Strong(HER) 

Come on all you Mommas! Finding the time to work out once you welcome your bundles of joy can seem impossible, especially if you have to find a sitter. Look no further! This stroller based class allows you to get your sweat session accomplished with your littles in tow! We will combine nursery rhymes, bubbles, and other kiddo distractions with a multifaceted workout planned to especially target all the areas Mommas bodies need to rehab and strengthen. Safe for prenatal and as soon as 6 weeks postnatal as long as you have your Doctor's permission. Bring a yoga mat or towel you don't mind getting dirty, a bottle of water, and your stroller bound littles. Dress in layers as we will always try to be outside if the weather allows. Please note: all children must stay in buckled a stroller or be worn in an Ergo/Tula/wrap for the entirety of the class. 

Yoga

Join us for an invigorating workout for the union of the mind and body though slow and controlled movement and conscious breathing. We offer different styles with different instructors. All levels are encouraged to attend.

Total Fitness

Uses a variety of equipment to increase physical strength, flexibility, power, cardio-vascular endurance and agility. This class will help increase your level of fitness and better your performance outside the gym.

Get Fit!

An early morning workout designed to increase physical strength, flexibility, power, cardio-vascular endurance and agility for the before-work crowd. Resist-a-balls, stretch tubes, medicine balls and weights will be used to accomplish your goals.

Jazzercise

A mix of dance-based cardio and strength training for a calorie crushing total body workout. The class format features a quick warm-up and stretch, followed by a high intensity dance workout to reach optimal heart rates. Strength training targets the three major muscle groups - upper body, abs, and legs, so you'll feel it where you need it. Jazzercise meets June through December in the recreation center studio.

Spinning

The class size is currently limited to 8 participants due to a limited number of bikes. Classes are on a first-come first-serve basis. All levels are encouraged to attend. 

Boot Camp

An early morning workout including strength training and toning for the before-work crowd. Resist-a-balls, stretch tubes, medicine balls and weights will be used to accomplish your goals.
