Snake River Instruction | June 29th

Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP) is the fastest growing water sport in the world. Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation Department and Rendezvous River Sports have partnered to offer both lake and river SUP lessons for adults. Rendezvous River Sports will provide instruction, boards, paddles, wet suits, booties, lifejackets, helmets and transportation. Participants should bring a swimsuit, towel, change of clothes, water, snacks and sunscreen. Registration takes place at the Teton County/Jackson Recreation Center or online.  Lessons will meet at the Rendezvous River Sports shop located at 945 West Broadway in Jackson.

Instruction begins with flat and moving water skills on Flat Creek above its confluence with the Snake River. Next you will learn the basics of river safety and river features. Once on the river, we will cover board edge and angle, learn how to carve into eddies, ferry across the current and even surf small waves. We will paddle on Class I and II moving water, depending on river levels, and will paddle 6-9 miles.

Date: Saturday, June 29th
Time: 8:30 am - 1:00 pm
